EVISAP brings health research closer to citizens at Ciència per a Tothom 2026 (UIB)

7 May 2026

The Primary Care, Health Services and Evidence-Based Medicine research group (EVISAP) has participated in a new edition of Ciència per a Tothom, the main science outreach fair in the Balearic Islands, held from 7 to 9 May on the campus of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
Este evento, impulsado por la UIB, reúne cada año a miles de estudiantes de primaria y secundaria, así como al público general, con el objetivo de acercar la ciencia y la tecnología a la ciudadanía mediante talleres, experimentos y actividades participativas.
In this context, EVISAP developed the outreach activity “In search of emotions”, an interactive initiative designed to introduce, in a practical way, concepts related to health research and the study of emotions.
Through this activity, participants became “emotion detectives”, observing behaviours, identifying emotional states and collecting “clues” to collaboratively build a map of emotions. In this way, they were able to experience how data are generated, analysed and interpreted in research, in an accessible format adapted to different educational levels.
The activity was designed and delivered by the group’s researchers Pau Riera and Xesca Rebassa, who guided participants through a practical exploration of observation and analytical processes, highlighting the importance of health research from a close and understandable perspective.
Participation in initiatives such as Ciència per a Tothom reflects EVISAP’s commitment to scientific dissemination and knowledge transfer, contributing to the promotion of critical thinking and interest in science from an early age.
