Narges Malih
Family Physician.
I am a doctor specialized in Community Medicine, with a strong interest in preventive healthcare and public health research. I began my career as a family doctor in western Iran, shortly after graduating in Medicine in 2009. In 2015, I completed my specialization in Community Medicine at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, where I focused on understanding the factors that influence the participation of individuals with a family history of diabetes in screening programs.
Between 2016 and 2020, I held various academic and research positions at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, including a period as a faculty member at the Center for Research on Social Determinants of Health. These years allowed me to deepen my knowledge of public health, epidemiology, and the broader context of healthcare systems.
In 2023, I moved to Spain to join the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa). I am currently involved in the PREDIABETEXT project, which explores how digital health tools can help prevent type 2 diabetes in primary care, an area that has quickly become a new passion for me.
Over the years, I have contributed to research on various topics —from diabetes screening and nutrition to musculoskeletal disorders and infectious diseases— often through systematic reviews and meta-analyses. More recently, my focus has shifted toward digital health interventions and evidence synthesis to support preventive care. I greatly enjoy connecting science with real-world health solutions, and I look forward to continuing to do so for many more years.
