Edward Mitsuro Becerra Nakayo

Investigador predoctoral

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the Private University Antenor Orrego of Trujillo, Peru (2008). I homologated my Medicine degree in Spain (2009). After discovering my passion, I pursued a specialization in Family and Community Medicine in the Balearic Islands (2020-2024). Additionally, I have experience in other areas of medicine, such as nuclear medicine (resident physician for just over a year, in 2010), anesthesiology and resuscitation (resident physician for just over two years, in 2014), and medical acupuncture.

Since 2023, I have been pursuing a PhD in “Global Health, Health Services, and Sociosanitary Care” at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). I completed two Master’s degrees: one in Research Methodology at the University of Córdoba (2011) and another in Medical Acupuncture at Pablo Olavide University in Seville (2013). I also completed a University Expert program in Self-Knowledge, Emotions, and Dialogue in the 21st Century at UIB (2018). I have published articles as the first author and co-author. I have presented over 80 communications at national and international conferences in the fields of family and community medicine, anesthesiology, medical acupuncture, and nuclear medicine.

I currently work as a family doctor at a health center of the Primary Care Management of the Balearic Islands. I have also worked in both the public and private sectors in hospital and out-of-hospital emergency services, in the operating room, in emergency medical transport, and in medical acupuncture clinics as part of integrative medicine units and pain management units.
