Francesca Maria Rebassa Xamena
CAIB Predoctoral Researcher
Francesca M. Rebassa Xamena joined the EVISAP (IdISBa) team on 15 November 2025 as a predoctoral researcher, thanks to a PFIS‑CAIB scholarship aimed at training in health research. Her contract is co‑funded by the ESF Plus Operational Programme 2021–2027 of the Balearic Islands and by the Directorate‑General for Health Research, Training and Accreditation of the Balearic Government.
Francesca is part of the SOM·RIU programme, “Development and evaluation of a multifaceted school‑based intervention to protect mental health and prevent suicidal behaviour in adolescents in Spain.” The intervention targets students in 2nd and 3rd year of ESO across secondary schools in the Balearic Islands and also includes digital training for families and teaching staff, with the aim of promoting multidisciplinary work.
Since joining the team, Francesca has actively contributed to implementing both the programme’s materials and methodology, preparing the implementation manual and creating various resources such as presentations and videos. Training sessions for the psychologists who will deliver the programme in schools have already begun.
In March, the pilot study will start in two schools: IES Ses Estacions and IES Guillem Sagrera. This phase is essential to allow the clinical trial to begin next academic year. The recruitment process for schools participating in the trial will also open soon.
