Evidence-Based Medicine Unit – IdISBa
The Evidence-Based Medicine Unit (EBMU) of the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) is a cross-cutting structure aimed at integrating scientific evidence into the various levels of the healthcare system. Since its establishment in 2008, the unit has carried out extensive work in the field of applied research, providing methodological support, generating evidence syntheses, and collaborating in the development of clinical and health policy recommendations.
The EBMU serves as a link between research and healthcare decision-making, helping to ensure that the available evidence is accessible, understandable, and useful for professionals, managers, and the general public.

- The EBMU has extensive experience in systematic reviews and advanced methodologies, offering a comprehensive and flexible approach in its services, which include:
- Design of systematic review protocols.
- Design of advanced bibliographic search strategies.
- Screening, data extraction, and bias risk assessment.
- Synthesis of quantitative and qualitative results through meta-analysis and meta-synthesis, ensuring thorough and reliable analysis.
- Evaluation of evidence quality and formulation of recommendations based on GRADE Evidence to Decision (EtD) frameworks, ensuring a systematic and transparent approach to informed decision-making.
